Wow...the iOS comes with multitasking, higher resolution camera, HD video, folders and video calling, and apple says 'while everyone was busy trying to catch up with the present iphone, we made it more powerful and indispensable'. But wait, all of this have been around with the android phones.
1)Multitasking is tricky on the iphone by only giving apps limited time or apps of apple approved functionalities such as background audio, background location or VoIP before they are frozen in memory or suspended, unlike services that are used in android much like a normal OS....for now this will do, but what if you want to multitask indefinitely (w/o push notifications from a server) across applications beyond apple's choice of functionalities, guess you will have to wait for iOS5
2)Higher Resolution Camera and HD Video Recording, think the evo 4G has surpassed it with 8MP (v/s 5) and 1.3MP in front (v/s VGA, seriously!!!), but I guess unless a phone comes with 3x optical zoom capabilities I aint going to let go of a digicam.
3)Video Calling: Even I was fascinated by the concept as a kid, small conveniences have a big impact. But with qik on android letting you do this on 3G/4G, not to mention live video streaming if you happen to bear witness to something important and want to reach more than 1 person live, it is more practical. If you have to be around wi-fi for this, you might as well use a notebook for a webcam chat.
This one is to be blamed on the service provider but as long as the iPhone comes only with at&t, the end result is the same.
4) As for Flash support, there have already been quite a lot of takes on the matter. My opinion is if it is buggy or drains battery, don't provide support for it but let the user have it if he/she chooses to. Most people who crave it are aware of the drawbacks and others will find out, especially after all this FUSS. Limting the user, is like buying a house with your hard-earned money and then being told by the builder that you cannot install an air-conditioner because it will draw too much power...would you not rather pay the higher utility bill.
In my opinion apple played/is-playing catch-up with all these "new" features, but as for overall design, luxurious looks, an interface that your grandparents can figure out and doing a great job of being least buggy, they are yet to be moved from the top spot.
